Settler leader submits plan for 1 million Israelis living in Samaria by 2050
Samaria Regional Council head Yossi Dagan submitted a plan to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday to increase settlement in Samaria to one million Israelis by the year 2050.
There are currently some 500,000 Israelis living in Judea and Samaria, internationally recognized as the West Bank, mostly in small settlements.
The “million for Samaria” plan is designed to increase Israel's presence, as well as the size of settlement communities.
The plan, which calls for the establishment of cities with industrial parks, a hospital and possibly an airport, is expected to draw criticism from the U.S. Biden administration.
