Israel strikes Hamas underground site in Khan Younis, targeting military head Mohammed Sinwar

According to assessments, the leader of Hamas' military wing was present in the underground facility attacked beneath the European Hospital in the southern Gaza Strip. It is unknown whether he is among the six killed. Other senior Hamas officials were also present at the site.
Today (Tuesday), the IDF carried out a significant and targeted strike in Khan Younis, Gaza Strip, with the target being Mohammed Sinwar, the leader of Hamas' military wing.
Sinwar is the brother of former Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, who was eliminated last October north of Rafah. According to Palestinian reports, six people were killed in the strike.
The IDF and Shin Bet do not yet know whether Sinwar was killed in the strike, but the matter is under investigation. The strike targeted an underground facility beneath the European Hospital in the southern part of the Strip. Other senior Hamas operatives were present at the location.
Yesterday, the IDF reported that it struck senior Hamas operatives operating in a command and control center at Nasser Hospital. According to the military, the site was used by operatives to plan and execute terrorist operations against Israeli forces and civilians.
Reports from Gaza indicate that among the dead was also the Gazan "journalist" Hassan Eslaiah, who had filmed himself on October 7.
In a meeting today with wounded reserve soldiers, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said:
“In the coming days, we will move in with full force to complete the operation and defeat Hamas.”
