Plane carrying Israeli student delegation to Poland makes emergency landing in Turkey

A plane carrying a delegation of 150 Israeli students to Poland made an emergency landing on Monday in Antalya, Turkey.
The emergency landing was carried out due to concerns about a possible technical malfunction in the aircraft.
The Ministry of Education announced that the students are feeling well and are expected to continue their educational journey to Krakow later in the day.
The incident occurred a day after a heated exchange of accusations between senior officials from Turkey and Israel. On Sunday, during a speech at a mosque in Istanbul, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan stated, "I pray that God brings destruction and ruin upon Israel and Zionism for what it is doing in Palestine."
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar responded sharply to Erdoğan's remarks, writing on social media: "The tyrant Erdoğan has revealed his antisemitic face. Erdoğan is a danger to the region, as well as to his own people, as is being proven these very days. Let’s hope NATO members realize this sooner rather than later."
Update: The students spent 12 hours at the airport in Turkey, as the first plane sent to transport them to Poland also suffered technical difficulties.
A second plane was sent from Israel, which finally took the students from Antalya to Poland.
"The security of the students is managed by the Shin Bet," Education Minister Yoav Kisch stated, before issuing a final update around 7 am: "The youth delegation landed safely in Poland in the last hour."
