United States Republican presidential primary candidate Nikki Haley blasted fellow GOP hopeful Vivek Ramaswamy after he suggested ending America’s close ties with Israel.

Haley said Ramaswamy was "completely wrong to call for ending America's special bond with Israel."

As an outspoken friend of Israel, she argued that military aid to the Jewish state serves U.S. security interests.

"Support for Israel is both the morally right and strategically smart thing to do,” Haley said

"Both countries are stronger and safer because of our iron-clad friendship," she added.

Haley who has ambitions to become America’s first female president, vowed to maintain Washington’s support of Israel.

"As president, I will never abandon Israel," Haley stated.

During her tenure as the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, Haley was a firm defender of the Jewish state and frequently blasted the international organization for its institutionalized bias towards Israel.

Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy – who is rising in the polls but still trails Trump by 55% in the primary race – recently said he wants to end U.S. military aid to the Jewish state by 2028.

Instead of American assistance, he seeks “to negotiate Abraham Accords 2.0,” which would include Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar and Indonesia.

“I want to get Israel to the place where it is negotiated back into the infrastructure of the Middle East,” Ramaswamy added.

He also stressed that Washington should not allow the “Palestine” question to detract from America’s overall national interests in the Middle East.

“We [the U.S.] should not be worried about holding one nation or one region hostage over one particular question relating to Palestine,” he stated.
