IDF spokesman Brig.-Gen. Daniel Hagari warned that the Israeli Air Force would embark on a wave of airstrikes on Hezbollah targets across Lebanon in the coming hours.

A special focus will be on "significant economic assets that are used to finance Hezbollah's terrorist activities," including banks and financial institutions in the capital Beirut.

"We are calling on everyone who is in Lebanon and Beirut near such sites - to evacuate immediately," Hagari said.

The IDF confirmed reports that it killed three soldiers of the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) in an airstrike.

The soldiers were traveling in an unmarked truck on a road approaching an area of active IDF operations when it was struck.

When additional, marked military vehicles of the Lebanese army arrived at the scene of the attack, they were not attacked, the army noted.

"According to the directives of the political echelon, the Lebanese army and the sites of the Lebanese state are not a target for us," the IDF clarified.

LAF troops have not taken an active part in the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah so far, and Israeli officials have reiterated that the IDF doesn't view the government's army as a combatant.

Following the report of fires in the areas of Safed and Rosh Pina following a barrage of rockets, the Israel Fire and Rescue Service reported that fire crews and firefighting aircraft were working to gain control of the fires.
