Terrorist responsible for shooting attack in Jordan Valley surrenders to security forces
The terrorist who carried out a shooting attack against several vehicles traveling along Route 90 on Thursday morning has turned himself in to Israeli security forces.
The terrorist, identified as Muhammad al-Sa'adi, a former officer in the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces, was linked to a Facebook post he wrote shortly before the attack, which was reported by Shin Bet.
Al-Sa’adi approached IDF fighters in the Jordan Valley this morning and informed them that he was responsible for the attack. He was then apprehended and transferred to Shin Bet domestic intelligence for interrogation.
The attack took place on Route 90, which runs south from Eilat, on the Red Sea coast, to the Sea of Galilee in the north. The route is patrolled by the IDF, however, the town of Auja, where the shooting took place, is under PA supervision.
Three people were injured in the attack, including a 13-year-old boy in a school bus who sustained light injuries to his face from broken glass shards.
