Women choosing life: Stories of babies bringing blessings to those who choose not to abort

An astonishing 6,000 lives have been saved over the years through the work of the pro-life organization, Be’ad Chaim, in Israel. Speaking to ALL ISRAEL NEWS, National Director Sandy Shoshani shared great stories of hope and transformation for women facing unplanned pregnancies.
Abortion laws in Israel are considerably more lax than those in the United States and many Western nations. As a result, nearly 100 times more Israelis have died through abortion since 1977 than in all of the wars and terror attacks combined since the nation’s founding in 1948.
Moreover, it is possible to get an abortion right up to the point of birth. Determined to save as many as possible, Be’ad Chaim is actively reaching out to encourage women to choose life and blessing, instead of terminating an unexpected pregnancy.
When asked how Be’ad Chaim finds women in crisis to help, Shoshani said they don’t have to find women, but rather the women find them. “
There was a season where we had billboards up on the Tel Aviv highway,” Shoshani said. “We did that a few times. We had buses with signs, but primarily Google and any kind of social media,”
“You did the pregnancy test in your bathroom in the morning, you see you're pregnant, you're freaking out, and you're Googling abortion. That's exactly what you're gonna do. Googling, how much does it cost to get an abortion? Where do I get an abortion? …And then we pop up because what we're saying is, are you, do you need help? Are you in crisis pregnancy? Here we are. Just call us right now. Free, discreet – just call us.”
The organization fields calls that come through the hotline from all over Israel, ready to offer holistic help and support. Working with social services wherever possible, Be’ad Chaim works to support women in crisis from all walks of life. Whether it’s through education, practical support for new mothers, or sustained prayer for women and children who have come for help, Be’ad Chaim is seeing lives turned around to experience blessing in wonderful ways.
Through Be’ad Chaim’s initiatives, thousands of mothers receive essential support, love, and the opportunity to choose life for their children. Moreover, those children have the opportunity to become a source of new life for their mothers.
“The Lord cares for every one of these broken-hearted, lonely women. You know, I keep meditating on one short verse: “The Lord is close to the broken-hearted.” And I read something fantastic actually at the beginning of the war because I was so desperate to help and didn't know how, but then the Lord showed me. I read something by Charles Spurgeon, whom I love, and it said, "When we see misery, extend the hands of mercy." And I put on my wall, "Any time we see misery, let's extend our hands in mercy,” Shoshani said.
Shoshani feels deep compassion for the women who come for help, and how God fills her heart with His love for them in a powerful way. She describes how women, often coming from difficult backgrounds or abusive situations, can find refuge and a support system in Be’ad Chaim, which helps them embrace motherhood in all kinds of circumstances.
Offering hope, faith, love, and practical support to those in need, Be’ad Chaim’s comprehensive approach has not only saved the lives of thousands of children but has also brought profound transformation to the lives of their mothers.
