Third terror attack in 24 hours leaves one woman lightly wounded

The incident took place after a mall shooting in Ma'ale Adumim and an attempted stabbing south of Hebron

Shots were fired at an Israeli family traveling in their car in the Jordan Valley near the Hamra Junction in the West Bank on Wednesday, the Israel Defense Forces confirmed on Wednesday.

A woman was treated at the scene for injuries she sustained from glass cutting her face after the car's windshield took multiple hits.

The shots were fired from a car that continued driving away, fleeing the scene.

The IDF is searching the area for the terrorists, including with the use of drones, and has closed off roads in the area of Nablus in the West Bank.

At the time of the attack, the 31-year-old woman was traveling with her husband and their two children, aged six and nine years.

Family father Rafael later told Kan Radio about the incident: "We came back from a vacation in the north, all of a sudden I saw a car with a Palestinian license plate that began to turn around on the street and moved in a suspicious way. I stopped 20 meters away, and the car returned to its lane and started to get closer."

"Two meters in front of us, the car crossed the lane division, blocked me and the passenger got out with an M-16 rifle and started firing. My wife shouted, 'It's a terror attack, drive in reverse and get away.' Then the terrorists' car drove straight towards Nablus," Rafael added.

Parts of the weapon that was used were later found at the scene.

The shooting occurred not far from the site of the Dee family murders in April when a mother and her two daughters were killed in a terrorist attack. The terrorists were subsequently shot and killed by Israel's military and security forces in May.

This latest incident is the third attempted terror attack in 24 hours.

On Tuesday evening, a 15-year-old Palestinian attempted to stab two IDF soldiers at the Eshtamua Junction in the South Hebron Hills, according to Ynet news. He was shot and killed by the uninjured soldiers.

On Tuesday afternoon, a shooting attack in Ma'ale Adumim left five Israelis wounded, including Avrahami Friedlander, listed in serious condition.

Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem announced on Wednesday that Friedlander had begun to wake up from a coma.
