The Indian Air Force used SPICE-2000 (Smart, Precise Impact, Cost-Effective) precision-guided bombs, manufactured in Israel, to strike terrorist targets in Pakistan and Kashmir, according to reports in Indian media on Thursday.

These bombs, developed by the Israeli company Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, were also used in the 2019 Balakot strike. Pakistan also claimed that the drones used in the attacks were of Israeli origin.

Pakistani military spokesperson, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, announced today that Pakistan had shot down 25 Israeli-manufactured “Harop” drones launched by India, in what he described as a “violation of Pakistani airspace.” According to him, the drones were sent to various locations across Pakistan, including major cities like Karachi and Lahore, and their remains are currently being collected.

"India continues to send drones into Pakistani airspace. It will continue to pay a heavy price for this blatant aggression,” Chaudhry added. The incident, which occurred a day after Indian strikes on several targets in Pakistan, raised serious concerns about the potential for a wider military conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations.

The Indian government stated more than 100 "terrorists" were killed in Operation Sindoor, and that the operation and casualty count are ongoing. It emphasized that India would not initiate hostilities and would respond only to provocations from Pakistan.

In the operation, called “Operation Sindoor,” Indian forces used Rafale, Sukhoi-30MKI, and Mirage-2000 fighter jets. It is worth noting that two days ago, India launched strikes in Pakistan and announced the beginning of an “operation to neutralize terrorist infrastructure.”

According to the Indian military, its forces targeted nine sites on the Pakistani side of the Kashmir region. Sources indicate that the operation was intended as retaliation for past terrorist attacks at various locations in India, including Pulwama, Pathankot, and Mumbai.

Reports also say that during the strikes, the Indian Air Force used SCALP missiles (also known as "Storm Shadow") – long-range, stealth-capable cruise missiles – and HAMMER bombs (Highly Agile Modular Munition Extended Range), precision air-to-ground munitions with a range of up to 70 kilometers (about 44 miles).

SPICE bombs, manufactured by Rafael, convert unguided air-to-ground bombs into precision munitions. According to Rafael's website, they use a “unique image-matching algorithm” to strike targets with high accuracy.
