IDF spokesman: ‘We have never mobilized so many reserves so quickly’
As the war effort continues to take shape in Israel, the IDF spokesman, Brig-Gen. Daniel Hagari said the mobilization of reservists has been the largest and fastest in Israel’s history.
“We have never mobilized so many reservists so quickly – 300,000 reservists in 48 hours,” Hagari said.
He also said Israel Defense Forces had all the necessary equipment ready for the soldiers, refuting rumors and reports that there was a shortage of some equipment. He said in some units, the number of reservists reporting exceeded the need.
“We have places and units that arrived not 100%, but 150% and 200%. We will release those who we do not need at this stage. There is no shortage of equipment and no shortage of food – everything will come.”
Hagari also noted that the IDF is in the process of securing all breaches in the security perimeter with Gaza.
“The breaches opened in the fence in Gaza will be secured by tanks that will reach the area and face every breach, aerial vehicles – combat helicopters and drones so that we will hold all the breaches in the fence.”
No official announcement has been made yet about a ground campaign in Gaza.
