Kneecapped by their own hatred – The Coachella Festival of Hate for Israel

The Irish hip hop group, Kneecap, which few ever heard of, just turned their 15 minutes of fame into what may end up being a non-stop controversy.  Likely to start a trend, it may become the template for other performers who hope to gain the notoriety and attention they crave.

While many are, indeed, being introduced to the Belfast trio, for the first time, the reference will be one associated with hatred, as they attempt to grab the limelight on a subject of which they are woefully ignorant.

It was at the pricey annual 3-day Coachella music festival, held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, where tickets start at a whopping $600 and go up to as much as $1400 to obtain a VIP entrance. For that kind of money, this year, attendees were blasted with a malicious and abhorrent blather of a politically propagandized message by one of the group’s members, Mo Chara, stating that, “What Palestinians are facing is far worse than anything Ireland endured during its persecution by the British.”

Continuing his revolting diatribe, Chara, who obviously never educated himself on the real facts of a country’s 76-year fight to survive constant attacks to destroy the Jewish state, went on to repeat the “genocide” accusation against Israel, culminating in the Free Palestine chant.

Hoping to draw a parallel between the two countries, Chara explained that the reason “Ireland is staunchly pro-Palestinian is because of what many Irish perceive as a shared history of oppression.” It was this appalling lack of history which put his stupidity on full display. Because, it is well-documented that each war, fought by Israel, was done so after they were first attacked by a hostile regime, which sought to put an end to the existence of a Jewish homeland in the Middle East.

Not one time was Israel the instigator of a conflict involving another nation.  Instead, she continuously made every effort to initiate generous offers of peace, even at the loss of her own land, if it would mean an end to all future fighting. All Israel ever wanted was to live among her neighbors with mutual respect and tranquillity. Always eager to help others who suffered natural devastations, she could be counted upon as being the first to arrive with manpower, ready to assist in whatever way possible.

So, if you want to speak about oppression. Yes, it certainly existed, but not at the hands of Israelis. The oppression was always aimed at them, as exhibited on October 7th, when another music festival took place, similar to Coachella, except with one big difference – many attendees never got to go home, because they were slaughtered in the forest where, if the trees could speak, the stories would reveal the blood curdling events which took place there - brutality and savagery, the likes of which Chara has neither seen nor heard.

Of course, it is so much easier to repeat a false mantra, hoping to gain the title of edgy, provocative and uber defiant.  Such a reputation is sure to endear you to today’s campus rebels who have found their highest calling in hating Jews – even those who have nothing to do with Israel, its policies or defense of a war it never wanted.

It’s become the season for full-scale antisemitism with no justification required. How did that happen? It was certainly helpful to create a fake narrative which reimagined history in a way that portrayed Jews as the oppressors who stole someone else’s land. Claiming that Israelis were the heavy-handed colonizers, who have been completely responsible for the suffering of those poor Gazans, with no place to go. It was that lying fiction which began the hateful trajectory against Jews and their homeland.

Unfortunately, the truth would be too sobering for the likes of a hip hop band who has to stoop to this type of performance art, in order to rise to fame. Israel has won the distinction of being the favorite villain, and that was why the band projected the vilest messages that they could, visually dropping the F bomb on Israel, and lighting up the background with the giant Free Palestine slogan.

Sadly, this revolting display helped to animate an audience, filled with many young people who are equally as ignorant of the real facts and history. They are only too happy to capitulate to a fabricated version which advances a hateful agenda and fuels the rage already felt by a generation of Woke Gen Zers who have fallen prey to their own bigoted influencers.

It’s hard to believe that the art of convincing people to adopt a certain way of thinking is now obsolete. Forget debate, discussion or presenting two sides.  All that’s needed is the word of one person who has a sufficient number of followers. It streamlines the burdensome task of checking out the veracity of a claim or digging a bit deeper to do their homework, something which would help them to determine if there is any truth to what is being asserted.

But that’s too time-consuming. If an entertainer, performer or singer is pushing the narrative, just go with it, because they can’t be wrong. Once backed up with their own country’s tale of oppression, it then sounds feasible enough to sell.

Kneecap is just one, in a long line of malicious slanderers, waiting for the opportunity to present itself so that they could unload the accumulation of refuse which has been laying dormant inside of them for years. The defense, taken up by Israel, following the October 7th massacre, was such a moment in time, providing her detractors with the ammunition needed to paint Israel as an aggressor once she fought back.

And while any other country would have done the same, the rules for Israel are very different. Self-defense or retaliation is translated into the worst possible characterization, especially when someone is trying to recast a nation into an evil regime, only worthy of being compared to Nazis.

Sadly, even a commercial event, intended to entertain the public, has fallen for this immoral type of dishonesty as it aspires to bring others into its lair of lies, further discrediting the Jewish state and those ethnically related.

This is the weaponization which Kneecap has chosen to adopt, but the hatred which they are keen on spreading may very well come back to hurt them, because that’s what hatred does!
