Visiting Israeli communities devastated by Hamas, Nikki Haley says IDF ‘soldiers are fighting America’s enemies’
Former UN ambassador calls on Americans to ‘pick a side’ in the conflict
Former Ambassador to the United Nations and former presidential candidate Nikki Haley toured Israel's southern communities Monday, accompanied by Knesset member and former Israeli Ambassador to the UN Danny Danon. While there, Haley blamed “America’s enemies” for enabling the October 7 attacks on Israel.
As part of her solidarity tour, Haley visited Israel’s south communities, including Kibbutz Nir Oz, the site of the Nova festival massacre at Re’im, and also Sderot.
While in Nir Oz, Haley witnessed the impact of the massacre on the community and met with residents who lost friends and family on October 7. In Re’im, she toured a memorial to the victims of Hamas’ attacks and met with a survivor, Tal Biner.
In Sderot, Haley met with top military personnel and spoke with the Mayor of Sderot, Alon Davidi, and received a briefing by the city’s security personnel. At the end of her visit in Sderot, Haley conducted a press briefing along with MK Danon.
MK Danny Danon stated, “I am deeply honored to host Ambassador Nikki Haley during her visit to Israel. Her unwavering support, clarity and commitment to standing against the forces of evil are truly commendable. Ambassador Haley, like Israel's resilient citizens, understands that, with or without world support, we have no option but to persevere and fight for victory, the complete eradication of Hamas and the return of our hostages. We remain resolute in our determination to ensure the safety and security of Israel and its people.”
Ambassador Haley gave a message of solidarity to the nation of Israel.
“What happened on October 7th was pure evil. To my Israeli brothers and sisters, I say we hear you, we see you, we hurt with you, and we mourn every single life lost,” Haley stated. “For those families who have hostages taken we won't stop fighting until everyone returns home.”
Haley encouraged Israelis, saying “America is with you.”
“Don’t listen to the media bites you hear. America is with you. Americans are with you.”
Haley said that “October 7th hurt us all.”
The former UN ambassador said that Israel’s struggle against Hamas is not just be personal for Israelis. She said Americans should also be concerned because Israel is fighting America's enemies.
“These heroic Israeli soldiers are fighting America’s enemies,” Haley stated. “They didn't just say death to Israel. They're saying death to America. We have to wake up to that. This isn’t going to go away by some political agreement. This isn't going to go away just because somebody wants it to. This is only going to go away when we acknowledge the truth. Every one of us has to be responsible.” The former US ambassador laid part of the blame for the October 7 attacks on the anti-America axis of Iran, Russia, and China.
Saying the attacks were “orchestrated by Iran,” she continued, “It was helped with Russian intelligence, and it was fueled by money from China. Don't deny that. China's been funding Iran the entire time. Russia's intelligence helped them know where everything was. Iran helped get them trained.”
While not all nations have accepted the explanation, Israel has argued that Hamas had financial and strategic help from Iran in plotting the October 7 attacks.
The ambassador also spoke of the role of indoctrination in raising a generation of Palestinians to hate Israel. Speaking of the 3,000 Hamas fighters who broke through the barrier, she said, “But that's not all who came. Thousands of Palestinian citizens came and robbed and killed and murdered and went back and came back again.”
“The reason this is important is you hear about Hamas, but there's an entire generation of Palestinians who are now entrenched with that Hamas ideology,” Haley continued, saying she prays for the Palestinians to be free from Hamas.
“Now, what I pray for Palestinians is that they get Hamas out of their lives.”
Haley also encouraged each person to “pick a side.”
“My side is the one where we speak for those who can no longer speak and fight for those who can no longer fight,” Haley declared.
