Saudi report claims body of Hamas leader Mohammed Sinwar found in Khan Younis tunnel

The body of Hamas leader in Gaza, Mohammed Sinwar, has been found, according to a report today (Sunday) by the Saudi Al Arabiya channel.
According to the report, alongside Sinwar's body were the bodies of 10 of his aides. The report also states that among the bodies found in the tunnel in Gaza was the body of the Rafah Brigade commander, Mohammed Shabaneh.
The assassination attempt on the Hamas leader in Gaza took place last Tuesday. Israeli Air Force fighter jets dropped at least nine heavy MK-84 bombs, each weighing one ton, on the underground compound where Mohammed Sinwar was staying.

The goal of the powerful strike was to trap senior Hamas figures inside the compound and prevent any of them from escaping. Those not killed by shrapnel and the blast were expected to die from toxic gas emissions underground.
Footage from the strike resembled the assassination of former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah in Beirut’s Dahiya district this past September.
After the assassination attempt, Israeli sources expressed optimism that Sinwar had indeed been eliminated. Now, there is an indication that the attempt was successful.
Mohammed Sinwar is the brother of Yahya Sinwar, the planner of the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre and former Hamas leader in the Gaza Strip. After Yahya Sinwar was eliminated last October, Mohammed succeeded him and became the leader of Hamas in the Strip. During his years of activity, Mohammed Sinwar was known for his extreme radicalism.
