Veteran Likud Knesset member calls for pause to judicial reforms to allow dialogue
Likud party Knesset Member Yuli Edelstein, a former Knesset speaker and once a close confidant of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has called for a pause of judicial reforms to allow an opportunity for dialogue with the opposition.
Edelstein supports reforms, but called for dialogue based on Israeli President Isaac Herzog’s proposals.
The Knesset member said a temporary suspension could end the opposition’s demand for a 60-day suspension of legislation.
“When you want to come and be adults and not like little kids in a kindergarten, then it’s definitely possible to get to a draft [agreement],” he told Israel's Channel 12 news.
