Ministry of Health orders removal of remaining COVID restrictions

Israel's Ministry of Health published a notice on Tuesday removing most of the remaining COVID-19 restrictions, in effect beginning midnight on Thursday morning,

The only two remaining restrictions, valid until May 15, 2023, will be the requirement to self-isolate for confirmed COVID cases and the requirement to wear a mask when traveling to a place of self-isolation with a confirmed case.

The requirement to wear a mask in medical institutions and retirement homes will be discontinued from Thursday morning.

The Ministry of Health still recommends wearing masks indoors for at-risk populations, such as those over age 65 or with compromised health.

According to statistics, as of this morning, the number of severe cases stands at 58 and the number of confirmed cases 2,822. In the last week, 15 people died with COVID, bringing the total deaths since the start of the pandemic to 12,242. Numbers of infections and serious cases continue to trend downwards.
