Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast to hold Day of Prayer at Israeli Knesset on Wednesday
Special Day of Prayer coincides with 76th anniversary of UN decision to partition the land of Israel
The Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast team announced the call for a special 'Day of Prayer and Support for Israel' at the Israeli Knesset in Jerusalem on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
The Day of Prayer event was requested by Knesset Member Tatiana Mazarsky of the Yesh Atid party.
Mazarsky, a member of the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast Caucus in Israel, and has spoken at previous JPB events, including the 2023 Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast, and the 2022 Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast.
Mazarsky was also one of the signatories of the recent letter to Israel’s chief rabbis, asking for them to call a National Day of Prayer.
The date of the JPB team's special Day of Prayer coincides with the 76th anniversary of the decision by the United Nations to adopt the partition plan of the British Mandate, thereby splitting the land into a Jewish controlled region and an Arab controlled region.
The JPB team released an invitation and announcement for the event, which quoted Psalm 79:10-12:
“Why should the nations say,
“Where is their God?”
Let the avenging of the outpoured blood of your servants
be known among the nations before our eyes!
Let the groans of the prisoners come before you;
according to your great power, preserve those doomed to die!”
“We need to pray - there is no human solution for the challenges facing Israel today,” the announcement proclaimed.
The JPB Day of Prayer and Support for Israel at the Knesset will be addressed by several speakers besides Mazarsky and JPB Director Albert Veksler, including Knesset Speaker Amir Ohana, Knesset Members Matan Katana and Ohad Tal, the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem President Jürgen Bühler, ALL ISRAEL NEWS Editor-in-Chief Joel Rosenberg, U.S. Congresswoman Michele Bachman and former Knesset Members Yehuda Glick and Robert Ilatov.
In addition, several foreign dignitaries, including U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson, will address the attendees by video.
Kahana said, “I don’t know if people, our allies, understand how much their support for us is important.”
“We are in a war, it’s a war against pure evil,” he added. “It’s a war not only against Israel, it’s a war against all our Judeo-Christian way of life. The support of our allies all over the world is so important for us.”
Veksler quoted the Book of Isaiah 49:25: “Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken, and the prey of the tyrant be rescued, for I will contend with those who contend with you, and I will save your children.”
“We want to get our children: our sons, our daughters, our mothers, our fathers, and grandparents back from the dungeons of Hamas, and we want to see a new situation in the Middle East,” Veksler added.
The special Day of Prayer and Support for Israel will take place between 8:30 - 11:00 a.m., Israel time and will be broadcast live on the JPB Facebook page.
