Israeli soldier seriously wounded, 41 Palestinians hurt in Gaza violent border clashes on Saturday
A protest by Palestinians at the Gaza border turned violent on Saturday, resulting in dozens of Palestinian injuries and an Israeli soldier seriously wounded.
The soldier was shot at point-blank range through the wall, the army said, and was evacuated by helicopter to a nearby hospital.

“Our mobilizing masses have come to announce that the path of the Sword of Jerusalem is renewed,” senior Hamas official Khalil al-Hayya said regarding the protest, which was planned despite Israel and Hamas reaching an agreement on Thursday for the transfer of Qatari funds.
