INVASION: As Title 42 ends, Biden admits border ‘chaotic,’ but lying that ‘we’re doing all we can’ to protect Americans
With millions illegally pouring into US, risk of Middle East terrorists exploiting border chaos rising
JERUSALEM, ISRAEL – This is insane.
No, really – I’m not using that word lightly.
It is the responsibility of the President of the United States to keep every American citizen safe from invasion.
This is precisely what the Constitution says in Article IV, section 4.
Yet President Biden is adamantly refusing to fulfill his constitutional duty.
AN INVASION IS UNDERWAY
As I reported in my column yesterday, an invasion is currently underway.
Upwards of 5.7 million people have illegally crossed into the United States just since Biden took office on Jan. 20, 2021.
Now, with the end of Title 42 today – a law that allowed the executive branch of the government to immediately deport anyone who had illegally entered the U.S. – the crisis is about to get much, much worse.
And just to be clear: I’m not guessing that things are going to get worse.
Biden admitted it in a press conference at the White House on Wednesday.
A reporter asked Biden, “Regarding Title 42, is the United States ready for the surge of people that’s going to come across border starting later this week?”
The Commander-in-Chief’s answer?
“The answer is: it remains to be seen.”
Then he added, “it’s going to be chaotic for a while.”
Translation: No, my administration is not ready, willing, or able to protect our southern border.
BIDEN LIES TO THE COUNTRY
If this weren’t bad enough, Biden then flat out lied by saying, “We’re doing all we can.”
That is simply not true.
Biden stopped building the wall along the U.S.-Mexican border that the Trump-Pence administration was building.
Biden dismantled the “Remain in Mexico” policy that had been successfully negotiated by the Trump-Pence administration.
Biden put out a “welcome mat” for vastly more migrants to come to the U.S., vowing to triple the refugee resettlement from the Western Hemisphere.
Biden sent 1,500 active-duty U.S. servicemen to the border, not to guard it but simply to do “paperwork,” said Texas Governor Greg Abbott on Fox News Sunday
This is hardly evidence of a President and his administration “doing all we can” to stop an invasion on America’s southern border.
TERROR THREAT RISING
And, again, as I wrote yesterday, this issue of chaos on the border is not simply about protecting American sovereignty, and American jobs, and matters of basic law and order.
These are very serious matters.
But there is something potentially far more serious that isn’t being discussed.
The number of people on America’s “terror watchlist” getting caught by federal authorities on the U.S.-Mexican border is on the rise.
Last year, it was 98.
Already this year, the number is 82.
And let’s be clear – that’s the number of potential terrorists who are getting caught trying to illegally enter the United States.
How many have slipped past federal authorities in the past two and half years since Biden took office?
What kind of affiliations do these folks have with terrorist organizations in the Middle East and elsewhere?
What are they planning to do now that they are inside the U.S. without anyone knowing?
What kinds of weapons have they smuggled in?
What kinds of weapons have they purchased on the black market in the U.S.?
And how soon are they planning to attack American citizens?
FACT OR FICTION?
In my new political thriller that releases next week, The Libyan Diversion, a radical Islamist terrorist leader sends teams of operatives armed with nuclear “dirty” bombs into the United States via the border with Mexico to unleash mass terror attacks designed to make 9/11 pale by comparison.
It’s a concept I developed after former CIA director and former U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told me several years ago that one of the things that he worries about most is the presence of what he calls “ungoverned spaces” along the U.S.-Mexican border.
By this, Pompeo means that the Mexican government has effectively surrendered large swaths of its northern territory to drug cartels, human traffickers, organized crime syndicates and bad actors of other kinds.
Rather than prevent millions of people from flowing through Mexico and entering the United States illegally, Mexico has basically given up.
That’s dangerous enough, but it’s exponentially more dangerous when you think about terrorists aligned with Iran, Hezbollah, ISIS, the Taliban, and others using these ungoverned spaces to enter the U.S., establish sleeper cells, and then launch cataclysmic attacks.
I wish The Libyan Diversion was a far-fetched piece of fiction.
Unfortunately, the premise that Pompeo gave me – and that I developed into a full-length political thriller – is not just chilling.
It’s all too real.
Yet, rather than do his constitutional duty to protect the American people from invasion – indeed, from all threats, foreign and domestic – Mr. Biden is AWOL.
And I shudder to think how bad this might get.
