Former Iranian crown prince says fall of ayatollah regime would have positive effect on entire Middle East

Reza Pahlavi II, former crown prince of Iran and son of the deposed shah, says the fall of the current ayatollah regime in Iran would dramatically change the entire Middle East in a positive direction.

“In the past 44 years, the whole image [of the Middle East] changed. Tension, conflict, radicalism, the nuclear threat, instability are all tied to what happened in Iran,” Pahlavi recently told The Jerusalem Post.

During the secular reign of his father Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, Iran enjoyed close relations with the United States, Israel and much of the Western world. However, the Islamist Revolution of 1979 fundamentally transformed Iran into a radical Muslim, anti-Western regime.

“At every opportunity I have to address an audience, whether a Jewish one or any other audience, I want them to understand how vital it is for us to have a common vision that, if it comes to fruition, can change the face of the region entirely,” stressed the Iranian crown prince, who currently lives in exile in the United States.

“Iranians are telling the world, and Israel in particular: ‘We are not the enemy; the regime is. We want to be your friends,’” the crown prince stated.

During his visit to Israel in April, Pahlavi offered an exclusive one-on-one interview with ALL ISRAEL NEWS Editor-in-Chief Joel Rosenberg on TBN's THE ROSENBERG REPORT.

During the interview, the Iranian crown prince revealed that he hopes peace will be established between the Jewish state and a post-ayatollah Iran.

In addition, Pahlavi seeks a “strategic partnership” with Israel and the Arab world through what he calls the “Cyrus Accords.” The name refers to the Persian King Cyrus who was reportedly tolerant toward minorities and set the Jewish people free from captivity in ancient Babylonia.
