Fmr. Rep. Michele Bachmann asks God to raise up 20,000 US college students to study in Israel and learn truth

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — Speaking to nearly 400 Evangelical and Jewish leaders from 40 countries today, former U.S. Congresswoman Michele Bachmann delivered a passionate prayer asking God to move supernaturally in the midst of this brutal war.

A devout Evangelical Christian, and the chair of the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast, Bachmann asked the Lord to:

•⁠ ⁠Reveal Himself to everyone in Gaza who does not know Him personally

•⁠ ⁠Raise up 20,000 American college students to study in Israel – not in France – to understand the true history and future of the Jewish state and the Jewish people

•⁠ ⁠Set all the captives free from Hamas in Gaza, according to the promise of the Lord in Isaiah 61:1-3.

Here is the transcript of part of her impassioned and deeply moving prayer.

O Father, my prayer today in this ballroom is that You would give all peoples on earth eyes to see, ears to hear, and a heart to understand that You, the God of the Bible, created this plan.

You the redeeming one, You the delivering one, You the conquering one.

You are the one that made a way where there was no way for the leaders of Hamas. They have a way to be blessed. Those who are the leaders in Iran. They have a way to be blessed and a pathway to be blessed. Those who are opposing you have a way to be blessed.

And so, Father, I pray that You would drop the scales from the eyes from those who hate You.

I ask, O God, that Your Spirit will come down on this earth, that You would sovereignly reveal Yourself even to those who oppose you in Gaza today, in Hamas, to those that are sitting in Doha, to those who are in Qatar, to those who oppose You.

Father, reveal Yourself today.

Reveal Your covenant.

This isn't about being against. This is about being for.

Because You're a God who loves. You're a God who builds up.

And I pray, O God, for every person here in this room that You would speak to each one of us.

What's our assignment?

What do we do?

How have You called us in following Your covenant, in agreeing with Your covenant and coming align with Your word.

How do we bless today? How do we bless this land? How do we bless this people? Show each one.

Lord, You spoke to us.

You spoke to me in my job.

You spoke to us as dean at this university. We were to start a PhD program.

You showed us, O God, that the State Department in the United States of America was filled with people who hate Israel and hate Jews.

And You showed us to start a PhD program where we would teach people the truth of Israel, the history of Israel, to love Israel. So that we could credential PhDs and put 100 PhDs in the State Department, 100 PhDs in the Defense Department, 100 PhDs in the Pentagon, in the military academies, in business.

What to do?

Lord, I thank You. I thank You that You've achieved that goal.

I thank You that You showed us to start the Israel Institute, what You will do and accomplish through that.

I thank You how You've shown us, Father, to start a study abroad program here in Israel.

200,000 American students go abroad. They all want to go to France.

O God, I ask You for 20,000 who will come to Israel.

20,000 who will come here, live in the land, study in the land, and have their eyes opened and transformed.

And take back the defense of the Jewish people and the land to their universities.

Show a slide deck, make the explanation, make the case and turn these universities around.

Father starts with an idea. That's the idea You showed us.

Father, what is Your idea for everyone in this room?

Each person could make a conga line and come up here. And one after another, after another, tell the miraculous stories of what You have told them to do.

And so, Father, I pray now over everyone in this room that You would bring to completion miraculously, which you have called them to do.

You called Brian Sanders to create this movie.

You have called many people in this room to do various things to bless and not curse.

And so, Father, I pray that You would bring down the resources, that You would open wide the doors.

And I pray, O God, that even now, as we are in this room, we join our prayers with our brother, that today You would set the captives free, that every hostage, whether there's life in their body or whether it is not, I pray that everyone is freed.

We pray that now in Your name, here in Your city, steps from the temple.

We ask, O God, would You grant this prayer today that they would be released from captivity?

Freedom, freedom, freedom!

Free Your people, O God.

Freedom!

Set them free, bring them home!

O God. Today. Bring them home.
