COVID update: 11,210 positive cases yesterday
For the fourth day in a row, the number of Israelis testing positive for COVID was higher than 10,000, setting new records since the pandemic began. Yesterday's 11,210 positive results nearly matches the previous day's record of 11,246.
In addition, the positive rate increased to 8.4%, marking a record high for the fourth wave of the virus. A total of 1,047 patients are hospitalized, of whom 667 are in serious condition – a drop of 86 since Sunday – and 143 are on respirators.
The death toll from the pandemic in Israel now stands at 7,122 people.
