Two Israeli citizens arrested for smuggling explosives from Jordan into Israel
Two Israeli citizens living near Tulkarm in the West Bank were indicted for attempting to smuggle explosive devices into Israel from Jordan, Israel's Shin Bet security agency announced on Tuesday.
The suspects had four pistols and four explosive charges on them when they were arrested in early August during a joint operation between Shin Bet, the Israel Police and the IDF.
The investigation showed that the two suspects were recruited for smuggling operations by Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) terrorists from the Jenin refugee camp.
In addition, they were allegedly involved in the transfer of weapons and money to terrorists in the Nur al-Shams refugee camp.
