The Israel Defense Forces prevented a drug-smuggling attempt from Egypt on Sunday.
IDF observers on the border spotted a number of suspects attempting to cross the border into Israeli territory near Mount Harif, located in the Negev desert in southern Israel.
Israeli soldiers apprehended the suspects, who were found to be carrying 164 kilograms (over 360 pounds) worth of illegal drugs.
The drugs, valued at approximately NIS 6.5 million ($1,690,000), were transferred to the Israel Police for processing.
