Flight from Tel Aviv to London makes emergency landing in Serbia
Following an incident with a passenger who threatened crew members and attempted to open an emergency exit door in-flight, a Wizz Air flight to London made an emergency stop in Belgrade, Serbia on Monday.
The passengers spent the night in Belgrade before being returned to Israel.
Wizz Air released a statement apologizing for the inconvenience: “The safety and security of passengers and crew are the company’s top priority.”
This is the second time a flight to or from Israel has made an emergency landing in the last two weeks.
Last week, an Air Seychelles flight bound for Tel Aviv made an emergency landing in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu thanked the Saudi authorities for their hospitality.
