Czech defense minister makes call to leave the UN over ceasefire vote – ‘UN supports terrorism’

Czech Defense Minister Jana Chernochová on Sunday called on her nation to leave the United Nations, following the UN Security Council vote over the weekend for an Israel-Hamas ceasefire.

Chernochová stated that the UN Security Council (UNSC) supports terrorism and does not honor Israel’s right to self defense.

“Three weeks ago, Hamas murdered more than 1,400 Israelis — which is more victims relative to the size of the population than the Islamist group al-Qaeda murdered in the September 11 attacks in the United States in 2001,” Chernochová said.

“Only 14 countries, including the Czech Republic, have stood up to the unprecedented terrorist attacks by Hamas terrorists in a clear and understandable way.”

“I am ashamed of the UN,” the Czech minister continued. “In my opinion, the Czech Republic has nothing to do in an organization that supports terrorists and does not respect the basic right of every country to defend itself. I call to leave, let's get out.”

The UN General Assembly voted for a humanitarian ceasefire on Friday, which was immediately condemned by Israeli leaders.

Israel's UN Ambassador Gilad Erdan said: “Israel will not stop the fighting until Hamas infrastructure is destroyed and the abductees returned.”

He slammed the global body for demanding Israel stop fighting for its own defense.

“This day will go down in history forever as the day when the United Nations, established after the Holocaust, completely lost its legitimacy and relevance. Today it was made clear that most countries in the world do not want to prevent atrocities and massacres but encourage atrocities and murder and help a terrorist organization survive.”
