Please pray the Lord quickly restores calm and quiet

JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorists operating in Gaza just fired a salvo of rockets at Jerusalem for the first time in this week’s new rocket war.

Fortunately, i24 News reports that the rockets were shot down by the Iron Dome missile defense system at the center of Israel – over the city of Beit Shemesh and the Gush Etzion region – before they could reach the capital.

But the fact that the terrorists aimed at Jerusalem signals a significant effort to escalate the conflict.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad may be trying to cajole or entice Hamas and other terror organizations to join in the fight.

After a 13-hour lull in the war overnight, terrorists in Gaza began shooting rockets again on Friday morning.

Stay tuned to ALL ISRAEL NEWS for continuing coverage of the war throughout the day and weekend.

And please pray – and mobilize other Christians to pray – for the Lord to quickly and sovereignly restore calm and quiet to the country and comfort all the innocent Israeli and Palestinians who are suffering in this new conflict.

IDF announcement:

A short while ago, IDF fighter jets struck four military posts belonging to the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip. One of the military posts was used by the Islamic Jihad's Rafah Brigade Commander. An IDF aircraft also struck a mortar shell launcher in the southern Gaza Strip.

In addition, the Islamic Jihad launched rockets from the Gaza Strip into southern Israel earlier today (Friday). In response, this morning, an IDF aircraft struck the area from which the rockets were launched in the southern Gaza Strip.
