Israel’s plan to become self-sufficient

Yesterday’s Jerusalem Post Editorial titled, “Military Dependence,” claims that “Israel is not able to protect itself, by itself, against any threat or combination thereof.” The realistic assertion is based upon the results of October 7th, which assumed that “Israel was positioned, thanks to generous US military aid, to deter and defend, by itself, against a threat or possible combination of threats.” But the day after the attack revealed one certainty, that “the enemy was not deterred.”

While there may be a great deal of truth to the limitations of Israel, requiring help from friendly countries who have a vested interest in helping her, when things really get rough, we have also come to discover that even at a time of existential threats, Israel cannot depend upon once trusted allies to continue supplying needed weapons or to differentiate, without bias, between terrorist aggression and self-defense.

It is due to these disturbing facts that Israel has been forced to fend for herself, and that translates into developing her own weapons for the Air Force, “a move which aims to overcome challenges related to supply delays and to ensure independence in critical issues concerning ammunition.”

These weapons, described as heavy bombs, “similar to the 907 kg American bombs,” are slated to be developed by Israel-based international military technology and defense company, Elbit Systems and are expected to take between two to three years before completion. Because it was just a couple of months ago that the U.S. administration began to drag its feet in providing this weaponry, under the guise of bureaucracy holdups, someone determined that “the two types of Boeing-made precision bombs requested by Israel, were not urgently required for Israel’s defense, consequently only sending a reduced portion of what had been expected.

Additionally, Israel intends to step up its “production of tanks and armoured personnel carriers domestically.”

Of course, all this makes sense when the survival of your people hangs in the balance. Because Israel can no longer depend upon the goodwill of the U.S. when certain political operatives, who are high-ranking members of committees that approve weapons acquisitions, choose to “hold back on approving the sale of F-15 jets as well as precision-guided munitions.”

In truth, Israel should not have to go it alone. Because, whether or not the free world is willing to acknowledge the reality of today’s global developments, Israel stands alone as the first line of defense in the battle to rid the world of brutal terrorists who regard humanity as nothing more than dispensable tools in their arsenal of war, which seeks to subjugate anyone who will not bend the knee to their murderous version of radical Islam.

If Israel fails to win that battle, the floodgates of terror and merciless aggression will be fiercely slammed open, leaving every nation vulnerable to the same kind of savage attack, which took place on our soil just ten months ago. Given the fact that this unsavory job of putting an end to the forces of evil has fallen upon us, providing our military with the needed expertise on how to best eradicate the enemy by sheer might and the element of surprise, it would behoove other governments to lend a helping hand in order to make sure that we are well-equipped and in the strongest possible position to do our job and take on these dark forces whose plans for mankind are the destruction of freedom and the many joys of life as we have known them.

Sadly, theirs is a world that values death, martyrdom and the distorted hope of an afterlife filled with reward and pleasure as a result of their obedient fight for the cause of Allah. It is deception and delusion at its finest – but an ideology which must dominate and enslave in order to achieve success.

Ironically, foreign governments continue to operate as if this fight is solely between the Jews and the Arabs, represented by Israel, the Jewish homeland and the Arab world, divided into 22 world nations, with some using the Yasser Arafat manufactured identification of “Palestinian,” but most of whom unite under the banner of Islam. Nothing could be further from the truth.

This is a war which will not end until every last unbeliever is gone. Their own words unequivocally display the clear intent of their mission, “fight the infidels and the hypocrites and be harsh with them. Their abode is hell, and what an unfortunate fate awaits them. So achieve your Jihad. May God help you accomplish your goals, and remember that work is granted to those who intend to work. And know that this war is a new Crusade against the Islamic world, and it is a war that is vital for the whole nation, and has many serious repercussions and bad effects on Islam and its people, serious repercussions and effects that only God knows the range of...Islam is the true religion."

It is worthwhile reading the 10-page manifesto contained in this DNI.gov site, just to understand the direction where this is all heading. It is not an anomaly, but rather one of many sites available under the search of “What are the goals of Islam.”

The pity is that there is a deep ignorance by too many of the world’s population as it relates to where they come into all of this. Without the understanding that eventually they will become the new target of this barbaric savagery which is more reminiscent of the Dark Ages when unenlightened societies had not yet evolved, they will believe that they are safe and exempt from conflict. And, perhaps, that’s part of the problem, the disbelief that such debased evil of this type still exists today.

But it’s about time that a full awareness of its existence is internalized by everyone, because if it’s continued to be relegated as the problem of one geographical region, then Israel will not be joined in this fight by others who have grasped the importance and urgency of working together to rid the world of this horrible plague directed at every human being.

This is the reason why Israel has no choice but to do what it must, and part of that is to provide our own weapons of defense, knowing that we can only count on ourselves. It’s smart, forward-thinking and the best strategy in a world that has too many fair-weathered friends.
