Three days after the devastating terror attack by Hamas against Israel, some 1,500 bodies of dead Hamas terrorists have been counted so far, IDF spokesman Lt.-Col. Richard Hecht announced on Tuesday.

In addition, Israel Defense Forces airstrikes have eliminated hundreds of additional terrorists inside the Gaza Strip, some of them still buried under rubble.

The IDF declared on Tuesday morning that it had gained complete control over all towns and settlements in Israeli territory, and patched up the breaches in the border fence with the help of tanks, aircraft and explosive charges.

Despite the statement that no additional terrorists had infiltrated Israel over the last 24 hours, fire exchanges with last holdouts broke out periodically last night.

Israeli soldiers killed at least one terrorist near Kibbutz Sa’ad overnight and another terror suspect near Mishmar Hanegev. Fire was also exchanged with terrorists in Kissufim.

At least 35 IDF battalions under the command of four brigadier generals are busy scanning and clearing the area surrounding the Gaza Strip of the last terrorist holdouts.

On the Israeli side, at least 123 soldiers were confirmed killed in action, while the IDF continues to identify its fallen soldiers and inform their families. On Tuesday, 38 names were added to the death toll, including senior officers and members of elite commando units.

Early on Tuesday afternoon, Israel allowed foreign reporters to enter the area surrounding the Gaza Strip for the first time in order to document the massacre that Hamas terrorists perpetrated there.

Israeli television showed the footage being broadcast from Kibbutz Kfar Azza, as reporters toured the devastated town while being escorted by IDF soldiers.

The Israeli media so far wasn’t allowed to enter the area, which is still closed off in a wide perimeter by army forces.
