As High Court hears petitions, some ministers say they won't respect ruling against Incapacitation Law
As the High Court of Justice conducts hearings today on petitions against the Incapacitation Law, one minister said he will not respect a ruling to strike it down.
Heritage Minister Amichai Eliyahu of the Jewish Power party accused the High Court of “breaking the law.”
"They do not respect the sovereignty of the people," he said. "The High Court is breaking the law.”
Opposition leader Yair Lapid posted a response on social media, saying Eliyahu should not serve as a government minister.
“A minister who declares that they will not accept a High Court ruling cannot continue to serve as a minister even for a minute. A government that will not obey the law and the court is an illegal government,” Lapid wrote.
