While many in the West have their eyes on Russia and Iran, another key country to watch is Turkey as America retreats from the region and other alliances form these days.
In an interview on the Christian Broadcasting Network's 700 Club, host Pat Robertson asked Joel C. Rosenberg about the Turkish president, Recep Erdogan.
“He’s a disaster,” Rosenberg said.
Rosenberg writes extensively about Erdogan in his book, “Enemies and Allies: An Unforgettable Journey inside the Fast-Moving & Immensely Turbulent Modern Middle East.”
“Under Erdogan, this NATO ally, this moderate Muslim country is turning to the dark side. Most Americans, even most in Washington, are not paying attention to the fact that Recep Erdogan, the president of Turkey, is turning away from the United States, away from Israel, away from the Western alliance, and is building an alliance with Russia and Iran. And this is incredibly dangerous,” Rosenberg warned in the interview that aired last week.
Turkey’s moves and ambitions are significant in terms of Ezekiel 38 and 39.
“I believe the prophecy is clear: Russia, Iran, Turkey, Sudan, Algeria, Libya and a few other countries will surround and attack Israel in the last days of history,” Rosenberg noted. “The prerequisite, of course, is that Israel has to be reborn as a country and become prosperous and successful and strong. Well, that has happened. And now the question is this: Are the chess pieces being moved on the board right now to prepare for Ezekiel 38 and 39?”
“I’m not prepared to draw that conclusion, but as I deal in the front part of the book – Enemies and Allies – Russia, Iran and Turkey and Libya and Sudan, well not Sudan yet, are forming an alliance, and it’s worth watching because it’s very, very dangerous.”
