The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) on Sunday morning released a video showing the path of a Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) rocket that was fired Saturday night toward Israel but fell short, hitting a Palestinian home and killing at least four children.

The rocket fell in the Jabalia neighborhood in northern Gaza.

Israeli media reported Sunday morning that a second rocket misfired around 10 a.m, killing one woman and injuring others – also in the Jabalia neighborhood. The incident had not yet been confirmed.

According to a statement released overnight by international spokeswoman for Prime Minister Yair Lapid, Keren Hajioff, there was “no Israeli activity in the Gaza Strip, in that area or at that time.”

She noted that around one in four rockets fired by PIJ toward Israel falls inside the coastal enclave.

“Iran’s proxies – including Islamic Jihad – have a long history of hiding behind civilians to target Israeli civilians,” Hajioff added. “The world should be outraged at this terrorist group targeting innocent Israelis and killing innocent Gazans.

“Israel will continue to stand up to this vicious terrorist organization – which threatens Israelis and Palestinians alike."

The PIJ at first tried to blame Israel for the incident.

So far, according to the Gaza Health Ministry, around 30 Palestinians have been killed since the start of Operation Breaking Dawn, including children. The IDF stressed that most of those killed, however, have been PIJ terrorists.
