VIDEO: Israeli Freedom Convoy in its third day – more than 50 tents erected outside the Knesset
More protestors planning to join on Friday, according to organizers
JERUSALEM—The Israeli Freedom Convoy is still going strong – and another convoy is expected to arrive on Friday bringing reinforcements.
Since 30,000 vehicles converged in Jerusalem on Monday, more than 50 tents have been set up around the Knesset and hundreds of people are planning to stay until the Special Powers Law – which gives the government the ability to declare a state of emergency – is repealed.
According to reports today, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett is considering dropping all remaining COVID restrictions from March 1. But the Special Powers Law can change that with a government vote on suspicion of a public health threat, attorney Rotem Brown told ALL ISRAEL NEWS today.
The law, which passed in a 9 to 3 vote two weeks ago, remains in effect until the end of 2022.
Meanwhile, supporters of the demonstrators have been bringing food and other supplies to those sleeping outdoors amid a cold Jerusalem winter.
