One of Israel’s largest defense companies, Rafael Advanced Defense Systems, will be exporting SPIKE missiles to the Polish army worth around $100 million, the Polish Defense Ministry announced.

MESKO, a local Polish partner, is already manufacturing the SPIKE missiles for Poland's military.

Rafael and MESKO formed a close partnership and have cooperated in the Polish market since 2003. SPIKE is an electro-optical flexible missile system, which can be launched from land, sea, and air. Some 21 European nations including NATO members currently use the SPIKE missiles.

In addition, the Israeli defense company will also export naval support services to the navy of an unnamed Asian nation.

The Rafael order is reportedly worth $30 million and includes maintenance services for Israeli-manufactured remotely-manned naval weapons stations, surveillance systems and integrated decoy systems.

Despite its tiny size, the Jewish state has emerged in recent years as a leading exporter of military technology worldwide.

In June, the Israeli Ministry of Defense announced that its defense exports reached a record high of $12.5 billion in 2022, an increase of 50% compared to the previous three years.

About 25% of the increase in Israeli military technology exports was reportedly attributed to Israel’s growing ties with Abraham Accords partners

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant welcomed the development.

“The remarkable data unveiled by the Israeli defense establishment, reaching new heights in defense exports, showcases the State of Israel's strength and excellent technological capabilities,” stated Gallant.

“Through the creativity and innovation of both the Israeli defense establishment and the Ministry of Defense, we not only outpace our adversaries but also sustain our qualitative edge,” he added.
