Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant recently told reporters that the Jewish state and its allies had succeeded in preventing 50 Iranian terror attack plans in recent years.

“There have been more than 50 attempted attacks in recent years. Most of them were ready to go, and were foiled at the last moment,” the defense minister said

“Thanks to our defense establishment, thanks to close cooperation with many countries, and thanks to the understanding that Iran is a global threat, we foiled these attempts and saved lives,” Gallant added.

The Israeli defense minister stressed that the ayatollah regime in Tehran had escalated its terror attack against Israeli and Jewish targets worldwide.

“In recent years, Iran has been leading a worldwide terror campaign, with unprecedented scope, targeting Israelis and Jews around the world.”

However, the Israeli defense minister stressed during his recent visit to Azerbaijan that the Iranian regime constitutes a threat to global security and is not merely the Jewish state’s problem.

“I will present to the Azerbaijanis, in an accurate manner, the global danger of military nuclear weapons in the hands of Iran. I will detail to them the dangerous actions that Iran is doing within the borders of Israel... and throughout the Middle East,” Gallant warned

The purpose of the Israeli defense minister’s two-day visit to Azerbaijan was to strengthen the already robust bilateral ties between Azerbaijan and Israel.

The Muslim-majority state shares a border with Iran in the strategically significant Caucasus region and allegedly shares Jerusalem’s concerns about threats from the Iranian regime and its aggressive policies.

Azerbaijan recently arrested an Afghan citizen who was reportedly planning a terror attack against the Israeli embassy in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku. The Afghan reportedly cooperated with a third country, which is believed to most likely be Iran.
