Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian threatened Israel on Monday evening that a “preemptive” attack on Israel by one of Iran’s proxy terrorist groups in the region could be imminent.

“In the coming hours, any preemptive action against the Zionist regime is conceivable,” said Amir-Abdollahian. “The leaders of the resistance will not allow the Zionist regime to do whatever it wants in Gaza and then go to other fronts of the resistance.”

The ayatollah regime leader was referring to his meeting with Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah on Friday but at the same time, he professed that Iran “does not give orders” to its proxies in the region, also known in Iran as “the Axis of Resistance.”

“Today, when we talk about the resistance in the region, it is not only Hezbollah, and we are witnessing the activities of various resistance groups in the region,” Amir-Abdollahian said. “If the war crimes of the Zionist regime are not stopped, new fronts will be opened and this issue will be inevitable,” he added.

The Iranian foreign minister did not rule out joining the war against Israel directly.

“Every possibility is conceivable...no party can be indifferent to the continuation of these crimes,” he said, adding “If we do not defend Gaza today, tomorrow we will have to deal with the phosphorus bombs of the regime in our own hospitals. An opportunity has been obtained for us to stop the Zionists inside their own home."

Earlier, on Saturday, Amir-Abdollahian boasted that Hezbollah would create an “earthquake” in the Jewish state.

“I know about the scenarios that Hezbollah has put in place. Any step the resistance will take will cause a huge earthquake in the Zionist entity,” he said. “I want to warn the war criminals and those who support this entity before it’s too late to stop the crimes against civilians in Gaza, because it might be too late in a few hours.”

During his visit to the Lebanese capital of Beirut on Friday, Amir-Abdollahian also warned that all of Iran’s proxies have their “fingers on the trigger.”

“In case of procrastination by the international community and the United Nations and the activists who support the warmongering of the Israeli regime, the response will be done at the right time and the desired resistance,” said Amirabdollahian. “I found out in the conversation with the leaders that the response that will be given is regrettable and will change the current map of the occupied territories.”

On Monday, former Hamas leader Khaled Mashal said Hamas wants Hezbollah to join the war against Israel.

“Hezbollah has thankfully taken steps, but the battle requires more, and it is in our interest to fight the war together,” he said.

Hezbollah has so far killed three IDF soldiers and one Israeli civilian in its attacks on Israel since the beginning of the war. The terror group, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, also killed three IDF soldiers during an infiltration from Lebanon.

On Saturday night, Amir-Abdollahian met with Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Qatar, where he promised to “continue cooperation to fully achieve the goals of Hamas and the Palestinian people.”

The primary goal of Hamas, according to its charter, is to “obliterate” Israel.
