Senior Hezbollah drone unit commander eliminated in alleged Israeli air strike
A senior commander responsible for Hezbollah’s drone force in southern Lebanon was killed in an airstrike on Tuesday evening, according to the Times of Israel.
Israeli officials have not commented on Lebanese reports that Israel was responsible for the strike.
Ali Hussein Barji was struck while driving in a car near the town of Khirbet Salam just before the funeral of another senior Hezbollah commander Wissam al-Tawil, who was killed on Monday, was scheduled to begin.
Barji was reportedly responsible for launching dozens of drone attacks against Israel since the start of the fighting on the northern border, including the attack against the IDF Northern Command headquarters in Safed on Monday, according to the Times of Israel.
