IDF targets Hezbollah sites in Lebanon after anti-tank round hits northern town

Following the firing of an anti-tank round at Kibbutz Sasa in the Upper Galilee, and launches towards several Arab towns near the northern border, the IDF responded with artillery fire at Hezbollah positions in Lebanon.

The IDF also reported several launches from Lebanon which did not cross the border into Israel. There were no reported injuries in any of the attacks.

Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen told visiting French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna that only by removing Hezbollah from the Lebanese border will a war with Lebanon be prevented.

"Only the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and the distancing of Hezbollah from the border with Israel will prevent war in Lebanon. Hezbollah, which serves the terrorist government in Iran, endangers Lebanon and the entire region. The issue can be resolved diplomatically or through military action.”

On Friday, War Cabinet member Benny Gantz warned: “If the world doesn’t get Hezbollah away from the border, Israel will do it.”
