Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh meets Iranian foreign minister in summit of terror
Al Jazeera TV reported yesterday that Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh met with Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Doha, Qatar where Haniyeh lives.
The meeting occurred hours after Amir-Abdollahian landed in Qatar, where he also met with Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Qatar's prime minister and foreign minister.
The meeting between Amir-Abdollahian and Haniyeh is the first since the Hamas invasion of Israel's border with Gaza on Oct. 7. The two leaders reportedly agreed to “continue cooperation to fully achieve the goals of Hamas and the Palestinian people,” according to a press release by Hamas.
Amir-Abdollahian’s trip included visits to Syria, Lebanon and Iraq, as he attempts to garner support for operations against Israel.
The Iranian foreign minister warned Israel to stop the attacks on Gaza or face a “huge earthquake of resistance” and insinuated that Hezbollah could soon enter the conflict.
“I know about the scenarios that Hezbollah has put in place,” Amir-Abdollahian said. “Any step the resistance will take will cause a huge earthquake in the Zionist entity.”
