Contrary to reports: No word on hostage deal from Hamas leadership Sunday evening
Despite earlier reports to the contrary, the Hamas terror organization didn’t respond to the latest Israeli offer of a deal to free the Israeli hostages still in captivity in the Gaza Strip, Israel’s Channel 12 reported Sunday evening.
After days of consideration, an official answer was expected to be transmitted to Israel by the Hamas leadership by Sunday.
The report added that Hamas leaders are expected to include demands for Israeli guarantees to an end to the ground operation and a withdrawal by the IDF.
Hamas will reportedly to transmit its decision through Egyptian and Qatari negotiators.
A recent report in the Wall Street Journal suggested that the reason for the delay was a difference of opinion among senior Hamas leaders both within and outside of the Gaza Strip.
