Biden congratulates Israel's President Herzog on taking office: 'I am sure you will carry a message of hope'
U.S. President Joe Biden sent a congratulatory letter to President Isaac Herzog on being sworn in as Israel's 11th president.
Biden wished Herzog success and said he looks forward to discussing "the many challenges and opportunities facing our countries."
"I am confident that in the years ahead, you will make valuable contributions to promoting coexistence and tolerance within Israeli society and to championing a message of hope about the future," Biden wrote.
