An anonymous pro-Iranian social media account posted on Friday what it alleged were Pentagon documents detailing Israeli preparations for an upcoming attack on Iran.

The leaked documents were published on the “Middle East Spectator” Telegram channel, described by Axios as an account that “routinely publishes pro-Iranian content.”

The documents, labeled “TOP SECRET,” described data collected by the U.S. National Security Agency (NSA), and noted that the classified information is available to the intelligence agencies of the U.S., Australia, Canada, Great Britain and New Zealand.

One report is titled: “Israel: Air Force Continues Preparations for Strike on Iran and Conducts a Second Large-Force Employment Exercise, 15-16 October 2024.” It states that the tankers and aircraft observed in a “large-force employment exercise” constitute “a similar package to what the IAF [Israeli Air Force] used to conduct long-range strikes in Yemen on 29 September 2024, according to imagery analysis.”

Another leaked document describes the IDF’s “key munitions preparations and covert UAV activity on 16 October almost certainly for a strike on Iran.”

According to Israeli journalist Barak Ravid’s report for Axios, “the leak could be an attempt to disrupt the Israeli operation.”

An anonymous source within the U.S. government told the news outlet that the “extremely concerning” alleged leak will not likely affect Israel’s plans, however.

Ravid further noted that while “the Pentagon and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence declined to comment on the leaked documents,” they “did not dispute their authenticity.”
