Hello, I'm Kayla Sprague and welcome to our ALL ISRAEL prayer points for today, Aug. 15, 2024.
As we gather to pray for Israel and the Jewish people, let us first align our hearts with the will of God, as Yeshua (Jesus) taught us to pray in scripture: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
With this spirit, we approach our prayers for Israel, seeking not our own understanding, but God's perfect will for his chosen people and for all the nations.
Let's focus on the critical events shaping the region this week, always remembering that our ultimate goal is to see God's kingdom established and His will accomplished in Israel, throughout the Middle East and to the ends of the earth.
Our first prayer focus concerns the ongoing threat from Iran and Hezbollah.
Defense Minister Gallant has stated that Israel is following what happened in Beirut and Tehran, and preparing for a variety of offensive options. The IDF has increased its readiness along the northern border, positioning elite units to counter potential infiltrations.
Our second prayer focus involves the complex negotiations surrounding a potential ceasefire and hostage deal.
Reports suggest that Iranian retaliation for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh could be averted if Israel and Hamas reach a ceasefire agreement. However, Hamas has expressed reluctance to attend the upcoming talks.
So, how can we be praying specifically now that we know the context of what's going on in the region?
Let's turn to our prayer points.
Let's pray for protection and wisdom for Israel's leadership and military; discernment for Defense Minister Gallant and IDF commanders; effective defensive preparations along Israel's borders; wisdom in considering different options, as well as safety for Israeli civilians and the potential conflict zones.
Secondly, let's pray for a breakthrough in this hostage negotiation, divine intervention in ceasefire talks and the safe return of all hostages currently held by Hamas.
We need wisdom for negotiators and wisdom for international leaders engaged in these diplomatic efforts.
We need protection for key strategic assets in Israel and allied nations, and we're praying for every single hostage to come home safely.
Finally, let's pray for spiritual awakening and peace; the hearts of leaders in Iran, Hezbollah and Hamas to be turned to God; protection and strengthening of believers here in Israel and throughout the surrounding nations.
We want to see the fulfillment of God's promises in Israel and throughout the entire Middle East and the world.
As we conclude, let's remember God's promise in Genesis 12:3: "I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse. And through you, all the people of the earth will be blessed."
We stand on this covenant.
We ask God to protect Israel, to guide its leaders, and to bring peace in this region.
May His will be done in Israel as it is in heaven.
But what has God put on your heart as you've been praying over Israel?
We'd love to hear from you. Share with us in the comments below what you've been praying, so we can all be encouraged as we join our prayers with those around the world.
Stay tuned for more updates and prayer points in the coming days as we see the situation unfold.
And may the God of Israel bless you and keep you. May His face shine upon you and be gracious to you and give you peace. Shalom.
