Maya, Itay, and Omer were taken captive by Hamas on October 7. They were initially kept together in the same house. Maya describes being treated at the house for her leg injury without painkillers. “The pain is unbearable, but you can’t scream.”

She was later separated from the others and taken to a hospital, where she met Guy Iluz, an injured Israeli captive who died from his wounds.
