Today’s anti-Israel protests are based on Hitleresque lies

Jew Hatred is not a new phenomenon. It is ancient and never seems to die a permanent death. The hysterical demonstrations are not new either. Hitler perfected a strategy which kept German crowds riled up from the 1930s until the shocking murders of six million Jews burst into the open in 1945 at the end of World War II. The Third Reich’s massive lies laced with unrelenting emotion-filled slander worked.

Hitleresque strategies included refusals to admit any wrong, a detailed set of lies about Jewish motives and character, and a depth of narcissistic racial prejudice that deformed the thinking of once-rational people. Along with the endless repetition of lies through the radio and newspapers of that day, massive crowds were delirious with Hitler’s hypnotic speeches. His demonic goals coalesced into luring an unsuspecting German culture – and most German churches – into irrational opinions, apathy, and violence.

Despite war crimes committed against Jewish civilians before and during the Holocaust, afterwards Jews trudged, crawled and defied every detour that blocked their journey. Their ancestral homeland was their destination, although not yet a modern state in 1945 when WWII ended. What Jews have achieved in the last 75 years as a modern nation has invigorated science, technology, agriculture, and medicine with innovations that have draped the world in blessings that often defy imagination.

Today, the 1930s-1940s Nazi context is the backdrop of a revival underway. A revival of evil. Oct. 7 will always stand alone as a day when every barbaric atrocity imaginable was committed, only short of cannibalism. Among inflamed Jew Haters are those who have ingested a hauntingly similar Hitleresque diet of years-long lies. Cultivated in universities, mainstream media, and rebellion against biblical Judeo-Christian values, the Boycott, Divest, and Sanctions (BDS) movement bears a level of responsibility. Organized in 1995 by an imprisoned Palestinian terrorist, the BDS movement sought to create economic warfare against Israel. It has often failed because many businesses and states saw the benefits of cooperating with innovative Israel, also a security and intelligence ally, a necessity for the United States.

On October 7, 2023, the Islamic Regime and its proxy Hamas seared into Jewish minds a demonic, unspeakable attempt at genocide, this time inside the world’s only Jewish nation. Nevertheless, weeks later with the Jewish DNA shaped by the Holocaust, now Oct. 7 their minds and spirits are heavily populated with strength to survive and unity. They possess the historic ability to transform horrors and heartaches into meaningful lives which thrive, prosper, endure, and hope. Lives not only for themselves in their small, diverse homeland but for other countries by sharing their innovations and vast humanitarian outreaches in times of need and natural disasters across the world.

With chaos and lawlessness breaking out what will our position be in the Christian world? Will we sink into the apathy and denial of the World War II German church? Will we learn the lessons of the past and the results of inaction that led to horrific injustices against innocent Jewish civilians?

We must grasp a fact of twentieth century history shaped by Hitler and unfortunately, shaped by most German churches too comfortable or too afraid to oppose it. Believers who are deeply concerned about the downward trends in our country and world today know it is slipping away from the moorings of faith resting on the redeeming love and sacrifices of Jesus. We must take a long look beyond our personal lives and make wise, sometimes uncomfortable decisions to speak up for our values at home.

Will we also stand beside Israel The Holy Land amid the unholy assaults of unimaginable depravity on Oct. 7?

Today, almost four weeks into Israel’s Swords of Iron war against evil, it is not Hitler’s Nazis. It is new Nazis, composed not of Germans but the Islamic Regime, Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis, and Jew Haters in Israel’s biblical heartland (West Bank.) A thunderous cloud of hatefulness about the 10/7 atrocities still stalks the Jewish community daily with “Gas the Jews” echoing across the world, continuing rocket barrages, and now missiles. The propagandic lies will intensify as Israel continues to mobilize in what PM Bibi Netanyahu calls Israel’s “Second War of Independence.”

Essentially, we live in a world in rebellion against God, the Father of Abraham, Issac, Jacob, and Jesus. Will we in the Christian community take our place bearing our Ephesians 6 armor, wearing the belt of truth and other weapons of spiritual warfare? Indeed, yes since we are engaged in spiritual warfare. The warfare and Jew Hatred is so defamatory that too many citizens of the world including those who call themselves Christians-believe that Oct. 7 beheadings, rapes, and dismemberments are fiction. Their denial is incomprehensible since more than 200 international journalists have now viewed the raw footage of sickening and nightmarish slaughter, videoed and posted by the terrorists themselves.

These statistics do not begin to tell the anguish Israelis are suffering. Over 1,400 murdered, 5,500 wounded, 242 kidnapped, unknown number of rapes and torture, 134 children and young adults without one or both of their parents. Since Oct. 7, Hamas has fired 9,000 rockets at civilians, and almost 3% of Israelis are displaced from their homes.

My final remarks rest in the fact that Islamic barbarians themselves and the crowds that idolize Hitleresque tactics will eventually encounter holy justice from the God of Abraham Isaac, Jacob, and Jesus. The Alpha and Omega will set His world right and in His time. After all, God’s incomprehensible love entered our world born into the Jewish culture to redeem us from the slave market of sin when we repent and recognize Jesus as our Jewish Savior and Lord.

Our role as non-Jews is to honor God by caring for the Jewish people today who bequeathed an ancient God-breathed legacy for our Christian faith and our spiritual homeland, Israel. During a war Israel did not ask for or begin, engraving God’s love and God’s justice into our hearts and actions is necessary. Let us prayerfully arm ourselves with steadfastness combined with truth to stand for the Jewish community in Israel and worldwide remembering that God’s covenants with Israel are irrevocable.

Amos 9:14-15 “I will restore the fortunes of my people Israel, and they shall rebuild the ruined cities and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and drink their wine, and they shall make gardens and eat their fruit. I will plant them on their land, and they shall never again be uprooted out of the land that I have given them,” says the Lord your God.”
