Thirteen Israelis were wounded on Thursday afternoon when a terrorist rammed his car into them near the Karkur Junction, close to the town of Pardes Hanna in northern Israel.

One of the victims, a 17-year-old girl, is in critical condition due to serious head injuries, according to the Magen David Adom rescue service.

Another 60-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman were in serious condition, also with head wounds. In addition, the condition of an 18-year-old woman was given as moderate, while the other victims sustained light wounds.

All victims were evacuated to Hillel Yaffe Medical Center in Hadera.

The police announced that the suspected perpetrator was shot and killed shortly after the attack, some distance away, in nearby Gan Shmuel.

He was later identified as Jamil Zayoud (53), originally from the area of Jenin but living illegally in the Israeli town of Ma’ale Iron with his Arab-Israeli wife.

The police stated that the main ramming attack took place at a bus stop. The terrorist then continued to drive down the road, where he struck a police car and wounded a police officer, before being neutralized.

The police also searched a broad area around the scene of the attack to rule out the possibility that the terrorist had accomplices.
