Senior officials in Egypt told their counterparts in Israel that it is not possible to rescue the Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip via a military operation because the Palestinian factions have managed to move them to places that Israel has not been able to reach so far, as was reported by the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar on Thursday morning.

According to the report, Egyptian officials demanded that Israel examine in depth every step before each military move and to be prepared to bear the consequences.

CNN reported that the director of the CIA is scheduled to arrive in Paris this weekend to participate in a summit to deal with the hostage issue.

Senior Hamas official abroad, Mohammad Nazzal, was asked earlier on the Al Jazeera channel about the possibility of reaching a deal for a prisoner exchange before the month of Ramadan, and replied that "this option exists."

According to him, "We cannot close the doors to reaching a deal."

Nazzal emphasized that both sides need this deal, not just one.

It was also announced on Thursday morning that Jordan warned Israel that they are concerned about the restrictions Israel is expected to impose on Arab-Israeli citizens regarding visits to the Temple Mount during the month of Ramadan.

A Jordanian source privy to the details said that "any tension at the Al Aqsa Mosque will significantly increase the possibility of the conflict expanding to the entire region."

The source also said that the issue of prayers on the Temple Mount during the month of Ramadan was a central topic in the meetings with the king of Jordan during his recent visits with President Joe Biden and others in the U.S., and visits in Europe. His main emphasis during those meetings was that such measures could increase tensions amid the war in Gaza.
