Rare snowstorm hits Israel
Mixed precipitation expected throughout the country for the next 48 hours
JERUSALEM – It’s snowing in Israel!
At the moment, it's coming down lightly in Jerusalem, but hard in the north, particularly in the Golan Heights.
While it’s not often that Israel gets a “legit” snowfall, it’s happening now.
In Jerusalem, rain has been turning into sleet, then into hail, then back into rain as temperatures fluctuate around the freezing mark.
But around 3:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoon local time, actual snow flurries began in the Holy City.
And up north, the snow is sticking to the ground and beginning to accumulate.
