Israeli media reported that Foreign Minister Yair Lapid secretly met with Jordanian King Abdullah last month.
Other top level Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Naftali Bennett and President Isaac Herzog, have also met the King in Amman in recent weeks as Israel has seemingly embarked upon a campaign to restore ties with the Hashemite Kingdom.
Relations with Jordan had become strained under former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the new government seems to be on a mission to rectify that. Lapid and King Abdullah discussed tensions in Jerusalem, the Temple Mount, known to Muslims as al-Haram al-Sharif.
