Iran congratulates Hamas over surprise attack: ‘We are with you until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem’
The Iranian ayatollah regime issued a statement on Saturday afternoon praising Hamas and pledging support for its surprise attack against Israel.
Rahim Safawi, advisor to Iran's supreme leader, Ali Khamenei, praised the operation and expressed his support, saying, “We congratulate the Palestinian fighters, and stand by them until the liberation of Palestine and Jerusalem.”
Safawi’s message was broadcast on the Iranian press.
Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah also expressed support for the operation, saying it is “a response to the ongoing crimes of the occupation.”
“This large-scale operation is confirmation of the will of the Palestinians and that resistance is the only option for dealing with Israeli aggression. The operation is a message to the Arab and Islamic world and to the entire international community, especially to those who seek normalization with Israel,” the Hezbollah statement said.
