Hassan Khomeini, grandson of Iran's first supreme leader, calls for strong military force against Israel

Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the late leader of the 1979 Islamic Revolution, said that the Iranian regime must display strong military force against the State of Israel.

“Iran should show their strength and military capability as the current global situation necessitates a stronger approach to dealing with Israel,” Khomeini said during an interview on Saturday.

“Israel will not back down from anything, unless it is faced with force and power,” he added.

The ayatollah regime has openly called for Israel’s destruction and has waged a decades-long fight against the Jewish state, primarily through its terrorist proxies such as Hezbollah, Hamas, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, the Houthis, and Tehran-aligned militias in Syria and Iraq.

On Oct. 1, Iran launched a direct attack, firing 181 ballistic missiles at the Jewish state. While most of the missiles were intercepted by Israeli and American aerial defense systems, some impacts caused some material damage in Israel. This was the second time in six months that Iran attacked Israel directly from its own territory.

The Israeli government has vowed to respond strongly to Iran's aggression.

Khomeini reiterated the regime’s call for a referendum to establish a Palestinian Arab state in the area currently comprising Israel, Judea, Samaria and Gaza. He acknowledged that, given the Arab majority in some of these areas, such a referendum could lead to the dissolution of Israel, with Jews becoming a minority.

“The Islamic Republic of Iran's solution for a Palestinian state is a referendum. Whoever gets the most votes wins. This will ultimately wipe out Israel, and they know it. If the majority of the people vote, they [Israelis] will not be able to govern. Therefore, they do not accept the return of the refugees. Historically, when they consider the two-state solution... Every time that the Americans, English, and Israelis mention it – even though the Israelis get very angry about it – they try to make the world accept the legitimacy of the Israeli regime,” Khomeini said.

During his interview with Iran's Channel 1, Khomeini also rejected the international community’s two-state solution and blamed Israel for the ongoing conflict with Iran.

“It is wrong to think that if we (Iran) left Israel alone, Israel would leave us alone,” he claimed, adding: “Deterrence is mainly based on power.”

He continued: “Deterrence does not come with a smile. I personally support any kind of negotiations, but know this: Any flexibility must have force behind it… In my opinion, it is time to level up our military deterrence. We have to increase the level of our military deterrence. Today, the situation dictates that we strengthen our deterrence.”
